In the Korean Association of Child Studies

The Korean Association of Child Studies (KACS) has been the leading professional membership association for child studies in Korea since 1979. We are in pursuit of academic research in the fields of child studies, mutual and professional knowledge exchanges, and social networks in both academia and industry.
We are the nation's largest academic organization in the field of child studies with approximately 2300 members. The KACS hosts two annual academic conventions, publishes six academic journals a year as of 2009 as well as English journal twice a year as of 2011, and approves the qualifications of child advisors and child development specialists.

Our Goal

The mission of KACS is as follows

  • Exchanges of information in the child studies field
  • Research presentation and academic journal publication
  • Establishment of academic conventions
  • Cultural exchange with institutions abroad and socialization within Korea
  • Approval of qualification policies for child development specialists or child counselors
  • Other activities involved with the accomplishment of this association's goals
